The Atlas Club Inc and its associated clubs holds the privacy and security of our site visitors and members in the highest regard. The following information explains what kind of information is gathered on our site and how that information is used.

What's collected and what's not?

You can visit the public parts of our site without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information. While IP addresses (the Internet address of a computer) are logged to track a user's session, the user remains anonymous. Tracking IP addresses gives us an idea of which parts of our site users are visiting and how long they spend there and where our visitors are coming from. We do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. This means that a user's session is tracked, but the user is anonymous. The user's browser also lets us know the type of computer and operating system being used.

There are certain parts of our Web sit that are for Members only, these are password-protected Web site areas and, naturally, we will know who those visitors are.

Members are emailed information pertaining to the club and specific interest sub zones in which they have ongoing interest or for which they have opted for daily or weekly e-zine lists

The Atlas Club does not allow the confidential private information of its members to be used by anyone outside of the Club, nor will the Club send any members offensive, pornographic, or any other material that may offend

How is email information used?

The email addresses are used to send you information that you requested. We never sell, rent, or loan our email lists to outside firms: No Spam.

How do I remove my name from mailing lists to which I previously subscribed?

Simply go to the free mailing lists, enter your email address and then click "unsubscribe".

As a Member, who has access to my application (which contains parts of my  personal details) if I apply for membership to The Atlas Club?

All submitted information is treated as confidential by The Atlas Club's staff, and Board Members and is protected under The Privacy Act. We never show the information gathered in the application process to anyone outside the Club without the member's permission.

As an individual Member of The Atlas Club, who can see my name and contact info?

No one outside of The Atlas Club Management will see any other detail other than your name and membership number without your permission. If you want to contact another Member about their travel plans, it is up to you to release your contact information to them (which you can do via The Club, on a per-see basis).

Is supplied Company Store credit card information retained?

We retain this information for a period of 60 days to allow for the possibility of a credit being posted to your credit card for a product being returned. This information is stored off-line and is not available to anyone, even us, on the Internet.

What happens to the credit card information used to pay for Atlas Club membership fees?

These transactions are conducted directly by CyberCash on their secure SSL server if it is done via the Internet. The Atlas Club never sees the credit card information in these transactions. If the transact is done by mail of phone then a receipt is issued and the information from the Credit Card merchant voucher is securely stored for 90 days then destroyed.

What levels of security does The Atlas Club  have?

Certain web site areas available only to our members are password protected. The Atlas Club is not using a secure server. Those ordering products from our Company Store that have a security concern sending credit card information over the Internet should use one of the three alternative methods of ordering shown on the Club's order form: Paymate, or postal mail.
