| Atlas operates as a free
club, and as such we have to contain costs and this means staff
numbers and time.
Everyday we get tens of thousands of emails and amongst them are spam, emails from non-members, and dozens of companies and tourism facilities around the world etc trying to sell us their product or link. We just cannot afford the cost of dealing with all these unwanted emails and you can imagine how much time it would take? It is hard enough trying to answer all the emails we get from members. To help overcome this problem we have installed a software program that vets incoming emails, so that only member emails get through. As advised in your welcome email you must put your membership number in the subject box when emailing the club. The program then checks your email address and membership number to make sure they match the register. If they do the email passes through to the Club's mail room, if they don't or there is no membership number the email gets sent to the junk mail folder, where it will probably never be seen again, as it is impossible to sort the junk folder all the time. It is also important that you make sure your emails are not carrying viruses as that to will cause them to be block by our virus protection program.
